Shaban Mohammad celebrates his second goal against Vipers, he two goals take his season tally six goals in three matches

Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) thumped Vipers Sport Club 3-1 in the Azam Uganda Premier League tie played at StarTimes Stadium on Tuesday.

The game was electric from the onset, Shaban Mohammad attempting on James Alitho’s goal twice in a space of one minute, but the custodian came equal to the task.

But this wouldn’t be for long as Shaban Mohammad pounced on a ball in the visitors’ box to slot home on 7 minutes to make it advantage KCCA FC.

Striker Derrick Nsibambi (L) came off the bench to score KCCA FC’s third in the dying minutes of the game after a defensive melee by Vipers

Moments later Timothy Awany brought down Tadeo Lwanga in the box and referee Rajab Bakasambe made no mistake but to point on the penalty spot. Awany was shown yellow as Yayo Lutimba stepped up to restore parity for the Venoms.

Tito Okello and custodian Charles Lukwago were also booked in succession as the game advanced.

But this wouldn’t get in Shaban Mohammed’s way as the striker nodded from Musatpha Kizza’s free kick to take his season tally to 6 goals in 3 games and sending the fans into frenzy.

From there on, it was end to end stuff as both teams went all out for the game. Vipers’ Brian Nkuubi’s effort was blocked by Timothy Awany when ball was goal bound in some of the attempts Vipers had.

Denis Okot was introduced for Lawrence Bukenya to strengthen defense duties and Derrick Nsibambi replaced injured Shaban Mohammed.

The cameo duo lit up the game with fresh energy giving the visitors’ back four a hard time, Allan Kateregga got booked in the thick of things.

Tito Okello was called into action but his efforts in quick succession were all blocked by Wasswa Geoffrey after being laid off by Sadam Juma and Derrick Nsibambi respectively.

Obenchan Filbert (R) was as solid as a rock in KCCA FC’s defense alongside Timothy Awany and Kizza Mustafa

Mustapha Kiiza also pulled a hamstring and gave way to Isaac Muleme and the quick feet winger’s runs gave Nicholas Wadada a nasty time down the right wing.

Just when the game seemed to be ending at 2-1, James Alitho performed a school boy mistake out of his box and Derrick Nsibambi made no mistake but to slot home the 3rd goal for KCCA FC and his 3rd of the season right at the death.

The 3-1 was KCCA FC’s sixth win of the season taking the points tally 22 points with the next outing against Proline on November 24th 2017 at the StarTimes Stadium.
