NINE KCCA FC PLAYERS NAMED ON THE 25 MAN CHAN SQUAD

Nine KCCA FC players have been named on the 25 man Uganda Cranes squad that will play in the CHAN tournament in Morocco this month.

The players are Benjamin Ochan, Kizza Mustapha, Isaac Muleme, Timothy Awany, Paul Mucureezi, Saddam Ibrahim Juma, Muzamiru Mutyaba, Shaban Muhammad and Derrick Nsibambi.

Kizza Mustapha and Shaban Mohammed were part of the U20 Cranes side that took part in the just concluded COSAFA tournament in Zambia last month, while Muleme, Awany, Ochan, Mucureezi, Saddam, Mutyaba and Nsibambi where part of the senior Cranes side that participated in CECAFA last month which were hosted in Kenya. Derrick Nsibambi and Shaban Mohammed Shaban rich vein of form getting the National sides 4 goals apiece in the CECAFA and COSAFA U20 tournaments respectively.

The contingent set off for Morocco on Wednesday afternoon and will play two friendly matches before the start of the tournament with Zambia on 6th January and Congo on 9th June in Rabat City.
There after the 25 man squad will be trimmed to 23 as the rules of the tournament demand.

The tournament will run from 13th January to 4th February 2018. Uganda is seeded in group B alongside Ivory Coast, Zambia and Namibia.
