Striker Shaban Mohammad scored on his KCCA FC debut against Police at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo on Wednesday.

The waiting finally came to and end. The 2016 FUFA Footballer of the Year Shaban Muhammed made his KCCA FC debut against Police on Wednesday 15th, 2017 in the Azam Uganda Premier League.

And Lady luck was on the side of the 19 year old striker who gave KCCA FC a half time lead. Capitalizing on Saddam Juma’s defense splitting pass before going past the Police keeper Davies Mutebi before scoring in an empty net.

The striker was signed a three year deal last month but has been kept on the sidelines since because of administrative issues before being cleared on Tuesday.

Am glad that I have finally resumed playing football and for my new club KCCA FC, its been a long time coming and scoring on my debut is also remarkable.

Shaban has been training with KCCA FC for some time and he fit in too well, averaging two goals in close to eight practice games he has played before his official debut.

It’s very hard not to score goals in a team like KCCA FC that has midfielders like Muzamir (Mutyaba), Sadam (Juma) and Kateregga, we also have Okello (Allan) and Poloto (Julius) surely goals should rain

KCCA FC manager Mike Mutebi was delighted for the young striker who was handed shirt 21.

It’s good for a young player like Shaban to score on his debut, he is a centre forward and that’s what is required of him.

The manager said before emphasising that Shaban will continue to flourish with the champions.

He is hungry and understands how we want the game to be played, we are glad to finally have him

KCCA FC’s other goal was scored by Allan Kateregga, five minutes to fulltime, it was his second of the season.

Shaban and other strikers in Derrick Nsibambi, Tito Okello, Samuel Sekamatte and Patrick Kaddu who have all found the back of the net this season.
