10 KCCA FC players, 2 officials summoned for National Duty | CECAFA

Ten KCCA FC players have been summoned for national duty ahead of CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup to be hosted in Ethiopia from 3rd – 18th July 2021.

The 10 are goalkeepers Matovu Hassan Muyomba and Lukwago Charles.

Defenders Musa Ramathan and Magambo Peter have also been included on the squad.

Sserwadda Steven and Anukani Bright are the two midfielders.

Lwanga Charles, Anaku Sadat, Ssenyonjo Samuel and Poloto Julius are the four forwards from KCCA FC on the squad.

KCCA FC Manager Morley Byekwaso will be the head coach for the U23 side.

Byekwaso has summoned a 40 man squad ahead of the tournament that is for players below 23 years of age. Tournament rules allow three players above that category to feature for any teams.

According to fufa.co.ug,Uganda will take advantage of this rule and name three senior players for experience and guidance to the youngsters. The senior players named are; Goalkeepers Watenga Ismail (Chippa United FC) and Charles Lukwago (KCCA FC), Striker Yunus Ssentamu (Vipers SC), defender Murushid Juuko (Express FC) and midfielder Saidi Kyeyune (unattached).

It is form this list that three players will be named in the final squad of 23 players for the tournament.

The players will meet at FUFA House in Mengo on Friday 18th June 2021 at 8am and then head to Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi for residential camp.
