Lugogo derby ends in stalemate

KCCA FC and Proline FC played out a goalless draw at Startimes Stadium, Lugogo.

The much anticipated Lugogo Derby did not live up to its billing with both teams blunt up front. Both sides had chances that could have broken the deadlock but failed to tuck them away.

Anaku Sadat beats Sendi Ibrahim

Anaku had the game’s best moment of offensive promise but failed to nod in goal from a well-weighted cross from Julius Poloto in the 20th minute.

Kato Samuel was then booked for a late challenge on Proline’s Hakim Kiwanuka in the 23rd minute.

Proline’s Mandela Joseph was also later cautioned for a foul on Herbert Achai on the edge of the box.

Aliro Moses beats Sendi Ibrahim

With five minutes to the end of the first half, Achai made a timely block to deny Proline’s Hakim Kiwanuka from finding the opener for the visitors.

Goalless is how it ended at halftime.

After recess, Sekisambu Erisa was introduced in place of Ssenjobe Eric while Musana Hassan replaced injured Aliro Moses.

Simon Sserunkuma later came on for Keziron Kizito with a quarter an hour to play in the search to break the deadlock but was all in vain.

0-0 is how it ended.

KCCA FC picking a point at home, and now have 50 points from 25 games this season.

The Champions are now three points adrift of log leaders Vipers SC.
