Brian Aheebwa is poised to make a return against Azam FC in the CECAFA Kagame Cup in Daresalam.
The forward faced a setback four months ago when he picked up an injury in the game against Wakiso Giants FC after a collision with an opponent that saw him watch on from the sidelines for the biggest part of last season.
Aheebwa last played a game against Vipers away in Kitende. In that game, he came on as a substitute after Charles Lwanga got injured. Since then, he has been in the sickbay working on his recovery.
At the time he picked up the injury, he had scored 7 goals in the league and 3 goals, a hattrick on his CAF debut in the Confederation Cup.
Aheebwa spoke to this website ahead of the game against Azam FC
I want to give thanks to God and the club’s doctors for my comeback. I faced a very bad setback last season that saw me miss out many games.
I was so disappointed and wanted to help my team fight for some silverware last term but i couldn’t.

We are in Daresalam to defend the CECAFA and we shall work as a team to defend this title. I will make sure as a forward I get to score goals in this tournament

On my partnership with Sam Ssenyonjo, yes, we had a good time playing together and we partnered well. But as a player I am ready to play with whichever player the manager fields on the day.
