Patrick Kaddu’s goal in the second minute of the game is all KCCA FC needed to grab a win against URA FC.
KCCA FC had not won against the tax collectors since 2019.
A long throw in from Fillbert Obenchan was headed away by a URA defender and then headed down by Brian Majwega and an instinctive Patrick Kaddu pounced to slot home with his back heel to give KCCA FC the early lead in the second minute of the game.
In the 11th minute, Usama Arafati picked a loose ball in the midfield and surged forward to tee up Mato who was standing at the edge of the box. Mato picked his spot and shot towards goal but Alionzi was equal to the task.
In the 22nd minute, Jurua dribbled past two men and crossed in the box but URA’s Fesali Najib cleared the ball away from danger.
Six minutes later, Kaddu teed up Usama who opened his body before shooting inches wide with URA’s Alionzi completely beaten
With five minutes to the end of the first half, Mato won possession in the middle and teed up Kaddu whose first time effort with his weaker foot was blocked by Nafian Alionzi.
1-0 at the break.
After recess, Yassar Mugerwa replaced Rogers Mato.
Mugerwa had his impact felt immediately after getting introduced into the game. The midfielder beat his man for pace and sent in a snap shot which was saved by Alionzi.
In the 52nd minute, Kaddu got cautioned for a foul on an opponent.
URA’s Kabon Living got cautioned for a foul on Herbert Achai in the 64th minute
In the 67th minute, Innocent Wafula and Charles Lwanga replaced Gift Ali and Brian Majwega.
In the 83rd minute, Erisa Ssekisambu replaced Davis Kasirye replaced Usama Arafat and Patrick Kaddu.
Achai Herbert and skipper Benjamin Ochan got cautioned in the 85th and 91st minute.
1-0 the final score.
KCCA FC picking the 10th win in 16 league games this season.
KCCA FC lie second on the table with 35 points and will visit Mbarara City FC next in Sunday 13th February.
