KCCA FC and Mbarara City FC played out a one all stalemate in a closely contested match at Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara on Sunday.

KCCA FC took an early lead through Usama Arafati in the 3rd minute after Patrick Kaddu had beautifully set him up off his head.

Kaddu who played the entire opening 45 minutes of the game in discomfort after he had taken two hard knocks on his head almost doubled KCCA FC’s lead but his effort whistled past the upright in the 15th minute.

The hosts, Mbarara almost leveled the tie when Pistis Barenge’s effort rattled the woodwork but skipper Herbert Achai was present to clear the ball away from his goal keeper’s line in the 39th minute.

With two minutes to the end of the opening stanza, Mato’s shot was saved and spilled by Mbarara’s Elungat and Kaddu was in time for the rebound which was once again kept away by Elungat.

0-1 at the break.

KCCA FC with the advantage.

After the interval, Davis Kasirye and Brian Majwega replaced Patrick Kaddu and Usama Arafat respectvely.

Five minutes after the restart, Jude Ssemugabi leveled for Mbarara City FC.

At the hour mark, Gift Ali, Yassar Mugerwa and Erisa Ssekisambu replaced John Revita, Innocent Wafula and Charles Lwanga.

Gift had immediate impact on the game and his snapshot from distance whistled past the upright just two minutes after he had been introduced.

Gift Ali got cautioned in the 83rd minute for a foul on Mbarara’s skipper Okwalinga Solomon.

In the 86th minute, Yassar Mugerwa’s attempt on goal from distance rattled the woodwork and went out for a corner kick.

1-1 at fulltime.

KCCA FC dropping crucial two points on the road to Mbarara City and continuing their wait of getting a win away against the Mbarara bases side.

The 13 times league Champions now lie second on the table with 36 points from 17 games and are three points behind leaders Vipers SC.

KCCA FC host Onduparaka FC next in match day 18 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on 19th February 2022.
