KCCA FC shared points with BUL FC in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game held at Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe.

The game had the second and third team on the log, battle on a wet afternoon, in the eastern part of the country.

KCCA FC showed immediate intent with rapid attacks on the hosts’ backline and it was Mato Rogers that had the game’s first moment of offensive promise but his shot was saved by BUL’s custodian Emmanuel Kalyowa in the 12th minute.

Five minutes later, Innocent Wafula’s controlled well and shot but his effort was pushed out by Kalyowa.

In the 28th minute, Majwega laid a beautiful pass to Davis Kasirye whose first time shot was well collected by Kalyowa.

Skipper Benjamin Ochan was called into action in the 34th minute when he denied BUL’s Ibrahim Nsimbe from close range.

Usama Arafati | BUL FC vs KCCA FC

BUL’s Hillary Onek and KCCA’s Iguma Dennis were cautioned by the referee in the 38th minute.

After the interval, KCCA FC had a penalty claim waved away by referee Rajab Bakasambe when Usama Arafati was brought down by Walter Ochora in the box just three minutes after the restart.

In the 50th minute, Kasirye’s shot was parried wide by BUL’s custodian Kalyowa and moments later Hassan Jurua floated in air to nod the ball on the frame of the goal in what was KCCA FC’s closest chance in the second half, then.

In the 55th minute, Ibrahim Nsimbe gave the hosts the lead when he struck from close quarters.

At the hour mark, Mugume’s free kick was controlled by Wafula whose resultant shot kissed the woodwork and was cleared away by BUL’s Pascal Ngobi.

KCCA FC came close in the 68th minute when Iguma shot was saved by BUL’s Kalyowa, Mato Rogers was in position for the rebound but his effort was blocked by BUL’s keeper and defender Ayiko cleared the ball away.

Morley Byekwaso rang changes introducing Fillbert Obenchan and Juma Ibrahim for Rogers Mato and Brian Majwega in the 73rd minute.

Davis Kasirye leveled the tie when he nodded past the goal keeper from a beautiful free kick from youngster Juma Ibrahim in the 77th minute to bag his 7th league goal for the season.

Teenager Elvis Mwanje was introduced in the 84th minute for Usama Arafati.

1-1 after 90 minutes.

KCCA FC sharing spoils for the 11th time this season and maintaining second position on 47 points in 25 games.

KCCA FC travel to Fort Portal next week to play bottom placed Tooro United FC on Friday 29th April 2022.
