Ssenoga Kagawa Muhamed’s solo and maiden goal for KCCA earned the club three big points on the road.
KCCA FC got off to a fine start when Tshisungu Kankonde controlled and passed to Kagawa who was free on the right wing. The latter controlled and shot but his first effort got blocked. His second attempt was fine and swift and found the back of the net.
Kankonde should have doubled KCCA’s lead but his header flew inches off the upright in the 26th minute.
Debutant Rogers Atube was cautioned for fouling in the 39th minute.
With four minutes to the break, Okello produced a goal-scoring chance when he teed up Mato but the latter’s effort rolled inches off the upright.
1-0 at the break. KCCA FC with the advantage.
After recess, Geoffrey Wasswa headed wide from an inch-perfect freekick by Okello in the 53rd minute.
Two minutes later, Denis Iguma was sent off for retaliation.
Julius Poloto replaced Kankonde in the 64th minute.
Nine minutes later Usama Arafati replaced Okello.
In the 80th minute, UPDF center-back Ibrahim Magandazi was sent for an early shower after fouling Mato and Usama in a space of 4 minutes.
With five minutes to go, skipper Benjamin Ochan made an exceptional save to deny UPDF’s Ahimbisibwe.
In additional time, Mujuzi made a timely block to deny Pius Kaggwa from leveling matters.
1-0 at full-time. KCCA FC picking a big away win against the army side and the first away win of the season.
KCCA FC returns to action on Saturday 19th November at home against the tax collectors.
