Uganda Cranes and KCCA FC midfielder came off the bench to score a beauty of a free kick that ensured the Cranes shared spoils with Cameroon.
This was the second friendly game for the Uganda Cranes in a space of three days as both Uganda and the Indomitable Lions are preparing for CHAN 2022 which will commence next week in Algeria.
Cameroon had earlier taken the lead in the 40th minute through Kemaju Debami but it was Moses Waiswa’s 80th-minute freekick that restored parity.
KCCA FC forward Rogers Mato was fouled at the edge of the box and Waiswa stepped up to take the resultant free kick to call the tie level, 10 minutes from time.
Another KCCA FC player Geoffrey Wasswa led the Uganda Cranes out of the tunnel and was picked by Coach Milutin Sredojevic as the day’s skipper.
Uganda Cranes will play their final friendly game on Sunday 8th January 2023 against Mali who are also preparing for the upcoming CHAN 2022 tournament.
