As SC Villa beat Express 3-2 at Namboole on Saturday, KCCA FC manager Mike Mutebi was watching and taking important notes.

Mutebi, formerly a Villa coach, revealed on Monday morning at Lugogo that his side is miles ahead of Villa in terms of match preparation.

“First I want to state that KCCA is the best passing club in the league. I’m happy that my players’ football acumen has improved overtime which gives us the edge over Villa,” said Mutebi, the reigning Uganda Premier League coach of the season.

He says Villa will be troubled while trying to stop seven-goal hero Geoffrey Sserunkuuma and assists master Muzamir Mutyaba.

“We have many game winners in the team. We have the luxury of starting industrious players like Sulaimon Akinyemi and Robert Ssentongo on the bench and bring them on to change the game later,” he revealed.

After noting the three Villa players – Ambrose Kirya, Godfrey Lwesibawa and Vitalis Tabu – the team will closely be monitoring, Mutebi announced the long awaited return of defender Timothy Awany and what his return means to the club.

“He returns at the very moment we need steel in our defense. We are now sure we are going for a win over Villa,” he said.

The manager noted that he is targeting stretching the four-point gap between KCCA and Villa and showing that we still have the character of retaining the league title.
