KCCA FC produced a masterclass comeback to win the Kampala derby against Express FC in Wankulukuku.

In what was an end-to-end encounter, KCCA FC drew first blood in the first minute of the game courtesy of Ettiene Katenga who tapped home Ashraf Mugume’s through ball. He now has the fastest goal in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League this season.

Musitafa Mujuzi would then clear the ball off the goal line to deny Express’ Alpha Ssali in the 9th minute.

Express drew the tie level, courtesy of Isaac Wagoina, who nodded the ball home past Anthony Emojong in the 23rd minute.

A minute later, Usama Arafat replaced Peter Lwasa.

In the 25th minute, Express’ custodian Abubaker parried Emmanuel Wasswa’s attempt to give KCC the lead off of his weaker foot.

Hardly had Assimwe replaced Hussein Ssenoga in the derby when he scored to double Express’ lead.

In the 35th minute, Emmanuel Wasswa and Muhamad Shaban were cautioned for a foul and dissent, respectively.

Two minutes later, Express FC stretched their lead through Marvin Oshaba’s tap-home from close quarters.

Four minutes to the interval, Herbert Achayi and Peter Magambo replaced Joseph Ogwanga and Mustafa Kizza.

Express’ Muwanguzi was then cautioned at the stroke of halftime for fouling Ettiene Katenga.

3-1 at the break. The home side, Express FC, in a comfortable lead.

Shaban Muhammad added to his nine goals in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League five minutes after the break by heading home Ashraf Mugume’s inch-perfect cross.

Express’ Oshaba was cautioned for time-wasting in the 72nd minute.

In the 73rd minute, Saidi Myanja and Abu Mayanja then replaced Haruna Lukwago and Emmanuel Wasswa.

In the 87th minute, Mugume’s pile driver from 30 yards out was parried inside the goal by Express FC’s custodian, Abubaker.

Two minutes later, Emojong’s quick start was controlled by Shaban, whose shot was deflected in the path of Usama Arafat, who slotted home to give KCCA FC the winner.

4-3 the final score.
