KCCA FC has completed the signing of forward Derrick Nsibambi ahead of the 2024/25 season.
The forward has finalized a two year deal and will be part of the Cityzens squad for the upcoming season until June 2026.
Current Head Coach Abdallah Mubiru gave Nsibambi his professional debut during his first stint at KCCA FC.
Nsibambi’s first stint at the KCCA had him feature for the Cityzens from 2014-2018.
He told kccafc.co.ug,
I am happy to be back home where it all started. When I had a conversation with the coach, I told him, yes immediately because I know this club through and through, I know what it means to the fans, so I want to be part of it again and I can not wait to go again.
Derrick Nsibambi.
Nsibambi joined KCCA FC in 2014 as a young forward and some of the notable goals he scored was the late winner against Egypt’s Al Masry in 2017 to give KCCA FC an advantage going into the second leg in Egypt. KCCA FC would later qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup group stages, becoming the first Ugandan club to achieve the feat.
Nsibambi has also featured for the senior men’s National Team in a series of tournaments including the CECAFA, CHAN and AFCON qualifiers.
Since leaving KCCA FC, Derrick has featured for Smouha (Egypt), Sebeta FC (Ethiopia), URA FC (Uganda), Al-Bashaeer (Oman), and Bandali (Kenya).
Now he returns to MTN Omondi Stadium for the latest chapter in his career, where he becomes the second signing for a forward after Emmanuel Anyama ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Nsibambi will compete with forwards Abubaker Mayanja and Emmanuel Anyama.
Everyone at the club welcomes Derrick Nsibambi back to KCCA FC and wishes him the very best for the future.
