KCCA FC and BUL shared spoils in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played at the latter’s new home, Lugazi.

In the 4th minute, James Mubezi whipped in a pinpoint cross in the box, but BUL’s Joel Mutakubwa calmly collected the ball to deny Derrick Nsibambi.

Etienne Katenga surged forward and shot the ball on goal, but Fesali Najib blocked the effort in what seemed like a handball in the box, and the referee waved play on in the 23rd minute.

Joel Sserunjogi was then cautioned for a foul on BUL’s Pascal Ngobi.

At the stroke of halftime, Saidi Mayanja laid a smooth ball to Katenga, who miscued his kick with the goalkeeper at his mercy.

Goalless at the break.

Three minutes after recess, Mubezi sent in a stinging shot on goal, which BUL’s Mutakubwa blocked, Katenga’s follow-up rebound was parried wide, and the ball cleared away.

Two minutes later, Bright Anukani was cautioned for a foul on BUL’s Kalyowa.

Abdallah Mubiru’s first change had Ashraf Mugume replace Bright Anukani in the 52nd minute.

8 minutes later, some smart thinking from Nsibambi had him restart play with a quick throw-in to Saidi Mayanja, whose perfect cross was nodded home from close range by substitute Ashraf Mugume to break the deadlock and hand KCCA FC the advantage.

In the 64th minute, a double substitution for KCCA FC had Peter Magambo and Sharifu Ssengendo replace Joel Sserunjogi and Etienne Katenga.

10 minutes later, BUL leveled the tie through Jerome Kiirya’s long range shot.

In the 76th minute, youngster Sammy Ssebaduka was handed his debut for the club, replacing Shafik Kwikiriza Nana. Haruna Lukwago also replaced the injured Hassan Muhamud.

In the 85th minute, Magambo teed up Mugume whose first time effort hit the side net in what should have been KCCA’s and his second goal for the day.

One all at fulltime.
