KCCA FC goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan has promised a tougher second half of the 2016/2017 season in which the side will be trying to defend the league title, win the Uganda cup but also do well in the CAF Champions League.
KCCA FC open the second round of the Azam Uganda Premier League on February 7th 2017 against BUL FC at Lugogo.
As we get to this end of the league, things are not going to be easy, everyone will be coming to play against KCCA FC because there is a point to prove and we are a point on top of the table
Ochan told www.kccafc.co.ug on Tuesday before revealing the amount of time the side has invested in their preparations and their readiness ahead of the tie against BUL FC.
Of course we have been working hard in the off season and we have been trying to sharpen up a little bit more than the first round, I should say we are ready for any challenge BUL is going to put on the table for us
After playing BUL FC, three days later KCCA FC will take on C.D. Primeiro de Agosto in the first leg of the preliminary round of the 2017 Total CAF Champions League with that in mind and already in at the round of 32 of the Uganda Cup, Ochan believes there is a lot at stake.
There is a lot at stake, we want to defend the league, we want to win the Uganda Cup and perform well in the champions league, we are the team to beat and that gives us confidence
But to achieve that, the shot stopper admits that he will be have to better his clean sheet discipline from the four he managed out of 15 outings in the first round of the season.
We want not to concede much in the second round, but also put away our chances, I believe if we do that we shall be able to achieve all our season target
Ochan is the only player who played all the 15 games of KCCA FC in the first part of the league.
He only missed the FUFA Uganda Cup Round of 64 against Koboko Rising Stars, then Charles Lukwago kept goal as KCCA FC won the tie 6-1.
