It was a tie that was dubbed a walk through the park for KCCA FC by most of the bookmakers especially after the league champions defeated BUL FC 3-1 in first round of the 2016/2017 Azam Uganda Premier League.

KCCA FC playing at home for the league’s second round opener showed they were all about business when Geoffrey Serunkuma tapped in off a Habib Kavuma goal bound header three minutes after kickoff.

The early goal scare led to massive pressure piled on the BUL FC’s defense in search for a second.

Returnee to the side, Brian Majwega literally had a party down the left flank every time he came across Bul FC right back Fred Agadu.

KCCA FC spent the entire 1st half asking questions to the BUL FC defense , the latter’s answers weren’t satisfying.

After the resume, BUL FC looked to be the side that benefited more from the halftime break with a series of brilliant display but KCCA FC custodian Charles Lukwago had the answers to all questions asked.

In only his second start of the season, and the first of the league, Lukwago pulled off plenty of marvelous reflex saves to keep the home side in it.

And just when BUL FC looked like they were getting their groove on, goal keeper Brian Bwete was sent off for an early shower for handling the ball out of the 18 when Paul Mucureezi seemed to be threw on goal.

BUL tried to buy time by allowing Eric Dhaira warm up before replacing Isaac Sserunkuuma, that didn’t stop Muzamir Mutyaba from reluctantly curling the free kick past the Dhaira.

From then, the chance for BUL FC to come back in the tie looked more than impossible and instead KCCA manager Mike Mutebi added more salt to the wounds of the visitors.

Mutebi introduced Ivan Ntege for Sulaimon Akinyemi, striker Derrick Nsibambi came for Brian Majwega while Vincent kayizzi was brought on for Geoffrey Sserunkumma.

And it ended 2-0, KCCA FC stretching their log lead further and ensuring that they go into the 2017 Total CAF Champions League against CD Primeiro de Agoso on Friday oozing with confidence.
