Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club first choice goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan has expressed no fear playing against CAF champions league defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns at the next round.

After eliminating, CD Primeiro de Agosto at the preliminary round of the competition on Sunday, shot stopper Ochan is confident KCCA FC can upset Mamelodi Sundowns next month.

There is always pressure especially playing a team like Mamelodi Sundowns but I’m a believer and I trust in God. As a team, we have really worked hard and that’s why we managed to edge past de Agosto . We are worth facing them and well equipped for the challenge

Ochan told www.kccafc.co.ug and he also believes KCCA FC can attain the set target of reaching the CAF champions league group stage by elimination Masandawana.

“Of course it will be sad for them but we would love to fulfill our target of going into the group stages. There is no point to prove really, Mamelodi Sundowns are a big team, champions of Africa now but we are also champions in Uganda.”

About playing against fellow Ugandan international Dennis Onyango, Ochan believes reigning Africa’s best player based in Africa has nothing to prove.

I don’t think he still has anything to prove. Africa’s number one goalkeeper and best player in Africa, so I think he has really achieved it all, and playing against him will be a great honor for me and the team

KCCA FC advanced 2-2 on aggregate thanks to an important away goal scored by Geoffrey Sserunkuma despite losing to CD Primeiro 2-1 in the return leg in Angola.

The team that returned in the wee hours of Tuesday morning will for the time being turn it’s focus to the Azam Uganda Premier league as they host Onduparaka on February 25th at the Philip Omondi Stadium
