Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) came into game day two of the CAF confederation cup fresh from Saturday celebrations for winning the Azam Uganda Premier League.
That though, made the 12-time league champions aim to win at home and keep tabs on other teams in Group A of the 2017 Total CAF Confederation Cup.
The Ugandan Champions spent the entire opening spells dominating possession and showing winning intent.

It was the visitors who pounced on a moment when the entire back line was napping and took the lead through Mokhtar Belkhither in the 19th minute.
The Kasasiro boys then switched to maximum seriousness and piled lots of pressure on the visitors’ defense and it wasn’t long till the never-ending deliveries in the box paid off.
Right fullback Denis Okot launched an inch perfect cross down the right in the box that met a leaping Derrick Nsibambi who nodded home at the stroke of halftime to send a capacity crowd ablaze.

After the resume, KCCA FC turned on the pressure, this time more than before, this tired out the visitors’ players prompting quick substitutions.
Just when the game seemed like it was going for the cold, Tom Masiko produced a moment of magic from 25 yards to send a belted of a strike that easily could have gone through the net to make it 2-1 for KCCA FC, this time taking the roof off the stadium.
The visitors tried to get back through Ali Abdi in the 75th minute but assistant referee flagged his effort for offside, after he had notch home off a freekick that had hit the woodwork.

KCCA FC nearly made it 3 with 5 minutes to play but Nsibambi failed to connect with cameo Paul Mucureezi thus squandering the effort.
2-1 is how it ended, KCCA FC picking up 3 vital points at home in the CAF confederations cup ahead of the next home tie against Rivers United on June 3rd.
KCCA FC though will turn attention to the 2017 FUFA Uganda Cup first leg semifinal tie against Express at Lugogo on May 26th, the return leg will be on May 30th at Wankulukuku.
