Muzamiru Mutyaba wanted to buy a car this December, he put those plans hold the day he was nominated for the 2017 FUFA Footballer of the year.

And on Friday December 1st 2015, Mutyaba beat former teammate and Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Vipers midfielder Tadeo Lwanga to the FUFA award.

I want thank the Almighty God, my family, my teammates and coaches and all the fans who voted for me

Mutyaba said in his acceptance speech at a colourful function held at Commonwealth Speke Resort in Munyonyo.

He later expounded to www.kccafc.co.ug how his his teammates and coaches played a great role in winning this word.

I am a midfielder obviously if the strikers don’t score the goals, that means I have not done a good job. The coaches also keep on pushing me and reminding me of my responsibility on the pitch and why it’s always important for me to deliver for the team .

Mutyaba led KCCA FC to a second straight league title, the Uganda cup completing a domestic double, a first in the history of the club.

He also scored two goals against Rwanda in the first leg of the final qualifying round of the African Championship of Nations.

Mutyaba alongside striker Shaban Mohammad were named in the FUFA Best XI.

While manager Mike Mutebi was named as the best coach for the second straight year.
