Shaban, Kizza make headlines at COSAFA

The choice of Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club striker Shaban Mohammad to be named the captain of the national U20 side the Hippos did yield fruits.

The 19 year old top scored at the tournament with four goals even though Uganda finished fourth, behind winner South Africa, second and third placed Lesotho and Egypt respectively.

Shaban opened his campaign with a brace in the opening game against Zambia as Uganda registered a 2-0 win.

The striker together with midfielder Allan Okello were on the scoresheet again in the two all draw against Swaziland.

Shaban missed the last group game against Malawi through suspension but returned in the barren semifinal against Losotho before Uganda lost 6-5 on penalties.

Shaban stretched his tally to four in the third place playoff as Egypt ran off with Bronze with a 3-1 victory.

At the same tournament, left back Kizza Mustafa led in the assists tally with this three at the champions that also Julius Poloto as the other KCCA FC player.

Once the contingent is back, attention will now turn to the Azam Uganda Premier League, KCCA FC host Kirinya Jinja SS on Wednesday 20th 2017 and Express on Saturday 23rd 2017, both ties at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.
