KCCA FC has launched a five-year strategic plan from the year 2018 to 2022 at a dinner held at Golden Tulip hotel, Kampala.
The event was graced by deputy Lord Mayor Sarah Kanyike, Executive Director of KCCA Jennifer S Musisi who was the chief guest at the function, deputy Executive Director Sserunkuuma, Minister of Sports from Buganda government Henry Kiberu Ssekabembe, representatives from KCCA, KCCA FC, KCCA FC Legends, KCCA FC Sponsors, fans and Media.
KCCA FC CEO Josephine Namukisa presented the strategic plan and said in her remarks that;
This strategic plan is aimed at empowering the club to undertake deliberate actions towards achieving the vision of becoming Africa’s leading football club. The document entails a picture of the future we aspire to and yet breaks it down in clear attainable goals, with guidelines on how to achieve them.
At the same event, members that served on the interim committee were awarded for their selfless services they offered the club before the current club management took over Architectural plans of the KCCA FC stadium were presented by Architecture Enock Kibamu of Plantek consultants. Ground breaking at the stadium is expected to start when the season comes to an end. The stadium capacity as per the plans is expected to be at 7500.
Former club chairman Julius Kabugo thanked the Executive Director for the support she has and is giving to the club.
I cannot thank the ED enough, she has been with us through thick and thin. I remember back then the club was crumbling but now we dine with the continent’s best. I would like to thank the members who served with me on the interim committee, because of you we have come this far. Kabugo said.
KCCA FC Chairman Aggrey Ashaba said the story of the club is one of hope, courage and strength.
We are now a formidable contender for leadership in continental African football. Thanks to the great men and women that have fueled this dream. Especially those who came before us, on whose shoulders we stand. Special mention to the people working behind the scenes to guide our narrative. We will create a legacy of a club that can squarely adapt to the challenges of a new era.
In her closing remarks the Executive Director said;
It is evident that we possess the potential to elevate the levels of field performance and club operations that will make football better structured, more enjoyable and conducted in a more transparent manner that will be satisfying to all. Just like we have fulfilled many things before we will also build the stadium. Musisi said
