KCCA FC manager Mike Mutebi has assured KCCA FC faithfuls about the team’s readiness and desire to win silverware ahead of the inaugural Pilsner Super 8 Finals against Onduparaka FC at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Saturday August 25th, 2018
The gaffer spoke to the media at the pre match press conference ahead of the game and said;
We are playing a big club and one that deserves to be here in the Final. As much as it’s a final, the game doubles as our test match ahead of the CAF Champions League game against Al Ahly away in Egypt on Tuesday 28th August 2018. We want to win this Final and pick up the first silverware before season starts. This will be a big boost for the lads ahead of our final CAF Champions League group game and also the new season.
On his thought about the Super 8 tournament, Mutebi said,
It is a good initiative by the Football Association to come up with such tournaments. The games have helped players of the participating teams build their fitness levels. It is also a good thing that sponsors have been attracted to football, but the sponsors should consider increasing funding of these tournaments. We (KCCA FC) spend almost more money in preparations than the prize money to be won. If the tournament is to attract clubs, the prize money should be increased.
KCCA FC were winners against Bul FC and Nyamityobora FC enroute the final of the inaugural tournament.
