KCCA FC convincingly won two nil against Onduparaka FC in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game and inflicted the worst defeat ever to the Caterpillars at the Greenlight Stadium in Arua.
With both teams fielding strong lineups having former players from both sides, Solomon Okwalinga and Denis Okot formerly for KCCA FC started for the caterpillars while Ceaser Okhuti formerly for KCCA FC was introduced later as substitute for the caterpillars.
KCCA FC drew first blood on enemy territory courtesy of a strike from Allan Okello who brushed the ball in the back off the net courtesy of a good delivery from the reliable Mustafa Kizza inside six minutes of play.
On 20 minutes, debutant Nicholas Kasozi dispossessed Eturude and played a good ball to Muzamiru Mutyaba who fed Jackson Nunda who shot wide.
Six minutes later, Patrick Kaddu beat the high line opposition defense and shot on goal but was flagged offside.
At the half hour mark, Lukwago tipped the ball over the crossbar to deny Kagaba a scoring opportunity from six yards.
Five minutes later, Fillbert Obenchan made two heroic blocks to deny Eturude and Okwalinga chances to find the back of the net.
After recess, both teams made changes KCCA FC introducing Allan Kyambadde for Jackson Nunda and Sadam Juma for Nicholas Kasozi while Onduparaka’s Okhuti and Kabon came on for Kagaba and Okwalinga.
Four minutes after the hour mark, skipper Timothy Awany flipped the ball in the net from Kizza’s corner kick that bounced on a couple of bodies before he slotted it in the back of the net.
On 70 minutes, Obenchan and Kizza got into the referee’s books while the hosts’ Okot also got cautioned for a harsh tackle on Okello.
With 15 minutes to play, an unmarked Sekajugo had his effort miraculously saved by KCCA FC custodian Lukwago and earning himself a standing ovation from the travelling KCCA FC faithfuls.
2-0 the final score, KCCA FC delivering the worst league defeat to Onduparaka FC at Greenlight Stadium, Arua in a convincing way and claiming the league summit.
