KCCA FC humbled old rivals SC Villa 4-2 in an action packed Startimes Uganda Premier League encounter held at Startimes Stadium, Lugogo
Goals from Mike Mutyaba, Mustafa Kizza, Allan Kyambadde and teenager Allan Okello ensured the 12 time league Champions took all the bragging rights.
Both teams seemed nervous from the onset but Kyambadde blew life in the game with a pile driver from 25 yards that was smartly kept out by Saidi Keni.
In the 10th minute, Kizza beautifully curled his free kick an inch over the bar and minutes later the left winger played a beautiful ball to Okello who shot over the bar on the bounce.
With a quarter an hour played, Kyambadde was brought down by Asuman Harishe in the box but referee waved play on.
In the 18th minute, Kizza thundered in a free kick Villa keeper Keni pushed it in Poloto’s path but the teenager fluffed the ball wide.
On 33 minutes, Okello’s header rattled the wood work and the ball was cleared away by Habib Kavuma.
Three minutes from half time, Kyambadde raced out of the blocks and played the ball to Mike Mutyaba who beat the Villa high line and slotted past an on rushing Keni to give KCCA FC the lead before half time.
After recess, Kizza doubled the lead with a picture book finish off a ball from Kyambadde in the 50th minute.
In the 54th minute SC Villa made a change introducing Charles Lwanga for Emmanuel Kalyowa but four minutes later Kyambadde stretched the lead to three off a ball from Allan Okello.
At the hour mark, Okello dribbled and entered the Villa box and was fouled by Harishe. The teenager stepped up and slotted in from 12 yards to make it four for the home side.
SC Villa made more changes to try and save the day. They introduced Joseph Semujju for Habib Kavuma and later Ibrahim Mugulusi for Ambrose Kirya. While KCCA FC introduced Steven Serwadda for Kizza, Esenu Musa for Mike Mutyaba and later Sadam Juma for Muzamiru Mutyaba.
Charles Lwanga and Ambrose Kirya got the guests consolation goals for the day in the 66th and 82nd minute.
4-2 the final score. KCCA FC taking the bragging rights and stretching the league lead.
