KCCA promotes six from soccer academy to senior side

KCCA FC has promoted six players from the junior side to the senior side.

The development was confirmed by the Manager Mike Hillary Mutebi at a press conference held on 2nd July 2019 at Startimes Stadium, Lugogo

In order to enhance continuity as a club, we are promoting six players from the junior side to the senior side. These are Jurua Hassan, Kafumbe Joseph, Kizza Joseph Bukenya, Musa Ramathan, Anaku Sdat and Kato Samuel

Apart from Kato Samuel. the other five promoted players have been part of the KCCA FC U19 team that emerged table leaders of the treble group in the just concluded FUFA Juniors League. The juniors collected 67 points in 21 games, scoring 88 goals and conceding 17 goals.

Teenage sensation Anaku Sadat emerged top scorer with 31 goals in 19 games. The promoted striker is also the all time top scorer of the FUFA Juniors League with 84 goals in three seasons.

When asked whether the club will sign any new players in this transfer period, the Gaffer cheekily answered;


These promoted players are the ones we consider as our new signings of the season

Some of the KCCA FC players that have risen threw the ranks and now play for the senior side include; Allan Okello, Julius Poloto, Herbert Achai, Peter Magambo, Fillbert Obenchan, Kizza Mustafa among others.

Promoting of players is seen as way on enhancing continuity of player development, strengthening the philosophy the club believes in and enabling cost cutting.

I feel so happy to be promoted to the senior side. I admire players like Timothy Awany and now that i have the opportunity to mix and mingle with thse players. it will help me grow in confidence and also learn alot from them

It is an amazing feeling. I have played one game with the senior team and i felt so privileged to don the shirt. It is something every soccer academy player wants to achieve. I can’t wait to get started

It has been my dream to play for the senior side and now that i have achieved it, i want to nail down a starting position in the team. I thank my coaches that have managed me from the soccer academy
