KCCA FC has released two players and loaned four while one player has run down his contract and thus will not be renewed.
The released players are Musa Esenu and Muwadda Mawejje who only served a year each on their two years contracts.
Midfielder Isaac Kirabira has run down his contract and the club will not be renewing it. Kirabira played four games for KCCA FC last term while the two released players Esenu and Muwadda played 3 and 13 games respectively.
Four players have been loaned out to other clubs for a year each. These are; Goal keeper Tom Ikara to Mbarara City FC, defender Walter Ochora to Bul FC, defender Muwanga Bernard to Proline FC. Goal keeper Hassan Matovu’s stint at Proline has also been furthered by another year.
Goal keeper Ikara has struggled to make the shot stopper position his at the Lugogo based side and his loan move to Mbarara FC is seen as a chance for him to get playing time and further his growth.
Soccer academy graduate, Ochora did not play for the club last term because he was sitting his senior six final papers at Kibuli SSS while fellow center half Bernard Muwanga struggled to nail down a starting berth in defense last term. With two years left for his contract to run down, a move to Proline is seen as an opportunity for more playing time.
Fast growing shot stopper and academy graduate Hassan Matovu’s loan period at Proline has been extended for another year. The goalie was impressive in the run in to Proline’s pursuit of the Big-League Championship and Uganda Cup last term. He also had an amazing display during the just concluded CECAFA tournament in Rwanda that was won by KCCA FC. Hassan is part of the Gaffer’s future plans and he rates the shot stopper very highly.
Speaking about the loaned players to www.kccafc.co.ug, manager Mike Mutebi had this to say;

The loan period should be one where the players reflect and work on a few things. This does not mean they are leaving but rather should use the period to gain playing time and come back stronger than before. We have sent them to clubs where we feel they can continue growing.
