Dawn of a new era as new board commences service

Time check, 4 pm on a calm and chilly Tuesday evening on the 12th day of November 2019

Inside a board room somewhere at City Hall, Kampala the sight through the window panes displays the upper limb of the Sun disappearing below the horizon.

In the board room, the outgoing KCCA FC board that has served in an acting capacity since November 2017 gathers to meet and hand over the instruments of power to the incoming board that commences service from November 2019 to July 2022, in summation two and half years of service.

Fast forward, the meeting is called to order and it commences…. (Story of another day)

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) which is the sole owner of KCCA Football Club has through the Executive Director Engineer Andrew Kitaka appointed 10 board members to serve the club for two and a half years from 12th November 2019 to July 2022.

The following are the new KCCA FC board members;

Martin Ssekajja – Chairman

Aggrey Ashaba – Vice Chairman

Davis Othieno – Board Secretary

HW Ali Kasirye Nganda  – Member

Tom Lwanga – Member

Kennedy Okello – Member

Moses Kataabu – Member

Kayanja Dumba Kyaterekera – Member

Nusra Sematimba – Member

Joseph Kirimanyi – Member

Outgoing Chairman Ashaba Aggrey made a presentation to the new board and highlighted four key major aspects to the incoming board. i.e Stability, continuity, change, and growth. He also hinted on three pillars that make up football that is Football the game/sport, football the business and football the industry.


I thank my board with whom I have served in acting capacity for two years. I thank all the stakeholders of KCCA FC especially the authority for giving me the opportunity to serve the club i have supported all my life.

The outgoing Chairman closed with a quote;

Just like Hotel California, I am checking out but I am not leaving KCCA FC. – Aggrey Ashaba – Outgoing KCCA FC Chairman

In his remarks, new KCCA FC Chairman Martin Ssekajja had this to say;


I thank the outgoing board for their service and time they have offered the football club. We will continue to work with most members to further the growth of the club.

In the final closing remarks, the KCCA Executive Director Andrew Kitaka said;
