Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) beat Express FC 3-2 in the 1st leg semifinal of the 2017 FUFA Uganda Cup at Philip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
The tie that was too cold at the onset saw both teams finding it hard to settle in the game with possession being given away at will.
Custoodians Douglas Kisembo and his counterpart the other end Emmanuel Opio seemed less troubled for the most of the 1st half.
And just when it seemed like the opening 45 minutes where heading for deadlock, Tom Masiko had other plans.

The confident midfielder launched a low freekick at the edge if the box that swerved to the back of the net to make it advantage KCCA FC at 37 minutes. The opener was Masiko’s fourth straight goal in as many games.
After recess, Masiko was brought down in the box and Geoffrey Serunkuuma stepped up to make it 2-0 at 48 minutes, his third of the campaign.
The manager introduced Isaac Kirabira for Paul Mucureezi in midfield to have some defensive cover.
Express pounced on some sort of defense napping from KCCA FC to slot home through Simon Serunkuuma at 58 minutes.

Hardly had the visitor scored than Derrick Nsibambi and Geoffrey Serunkuuma produced some brilliant interplay for the latter to power home to make it 3-1.
Misfortune hit Mutebi’s side when defender Timothy Awany who had a solid game was withdrawn injured for Habib Kavuma.
And just when it seemed like KCCA FC had stretched the lead, Express pulled one back through Allan Kyambadde on 71 minutes to narrow the score to 3-2. That ensured the tie ended in an electric style.
3-2 is how it ended, KCCA FC taking the bragging rights in the second leg semifinal of the Uganda Cup next Tuesday at Wankulukuku Stadium.
The winner on aggregate will advance to the final of the tournament slated for June 10th at the Betway Green Light Stadium.
