Four KCCA FC players have made the final squad for the men’s U17 Afcon finals that will be held in Morocco.

Teenage midfielder and huge prospect Brain Jjara, who has recently featured for the KCCA FC senior team, leads the quartet.

The others are goalkeeper Ashraf Lukyamuzi, midfielder Thomas Ogema, and KCCA Soccer Academy captain Steven Oyirwoth.

The four were also part of the Uganda U17 side that won the U17 CECAFA zonal qualifiers held in Kampala, Uganda, in December 2024.

The Uganda U17 side, commonly known as the Cubs, is set to participate in the upcoming TotalEnergies AFCON U17 tournament set to take place in Morocco from March 30 to April 19, 2025.

Head coach Brian Ssenyondo confirmed his final 22-man squad before the team traveled to Morocco.

Uganda is placed in Group A alongside Morocco (hosts), Tanzania, and Zambia.

The U17 AFCON tournament serves as a qualification pathway for the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar later this year, with the top 10 African teams earning slots at the global event.

Uganda will face host nation Morocco in their opening game on March 30 at El Bachir Stadium.

To further prepare for the tournament, the Uganda U17 team will hold further training sessions, pre-build up and practice games, and engage in friendly matches in Morocco this coming week.
