Africa’s leading referee to officiate Masandawana and KCCA FC in Pretoria

KCCA FC take on African Champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg of the Total CAF Champions League on March 10th at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.

The match will be officiated by a not so familiar face in the names of Janny Sikazwe, but one who is well respected on the African continent.

The Zambian was born on 26 May 1979 in Kapiri Mposhi and is one of the top referees on the African continent. Was one of the referees for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

But he will forever be remembered as the man who officiated the final of the 2016 FIFA Club World Cup in Japan,and the final of the 2017 Total Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

In Pretoria he will be assisted by fellow Zambians Bruno Tembo as the first assistant Referee, Amos Nanga Chalwe as the second assistant Referee and Wisdom Chewe as the fourth official.  An Yan Lim Kee Chong from Mauritius will be the match commissioner.

The return leg at the Philip Omondi Stadium on March 17th will be officiated by a team from Botswana, led by Joshua Bondo as the centre referee.

His assistants will be Moemedi Monakwane and Mogomotsi Morakile as the first and second assistants respectively with, Kutlwano Leso as the fourth official. Match commissioner will be Muhsin Ali Rajab from Zanzibar.

Before playing both CAF engagements, KCCA FC will play The Saints away on March 3, 2017 at the Champions Stadium in Matugga hoping to do a double on the army side after winning the first leg 1-0 at Lugogo.

KCCA FC will be looking for their fourth away win this season after picking three in the previous eight outings against BUL, Lweza and Bright Stars.
