KCCA FC’s Ashraf Mugume has been chosen as October’s 22Bet player of the month.
Mugume faced stiff competition from Allan Okello as the pair were the only players that were up for the monthly gong.
Ashraf Mugume scored two goals in the league’s opener against Wakiso Giants after he was introduced as a substitute in the 39th minute. The midfielder was later named Man of the Match for the match against Wakiso Giants FC.
Mugume went on to start the next three league games for KCCA FC against Arua Hill SC, Vipers, and Maroons.
Okello was named Man of the Match for the league game against Vipers SC. The number 10 had a phenomenal game against the venoms. He provided the assist for Rogers Mato’s lone goal in the 5th minute of the game.
Mugume having an edge over Okello has everything to do with his brace against Wakiso Giants FC after coming on as a substitute and also playing each minute in the next three games against Arua Hill, Vipers, and Maroons.
Mugume was handed a cash prize of 200,000ugx by 22BET representative Frank Lulinda at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Thursday.
When asked how he felt about being named the best player for October, Mugume said;
I am happy to be awarded as the best player for KCCA FC in October. I do not take this for granted because this team has many good players and for me to be chosen as the best player for October is quite enriching. This award will encourage me to even do better in the next games so that I can compete for trophies and may be even the player of the season for the club. I also thank the sponsor 22Bet for awarding us the players for the performances we put in.
