KCCA FC skipper Timothy Denis Awany has come out to talk about the team’s last fixture in group A of the 22nd edition of the CAF Champions League against Al Ahly in Alexandria, Egypt.
The Captain spoke to www.kccafc.co.ug and said;
First of all we are grateful as a unit for having come this far in the competition. As debutantes we were tagged as the underdog but have defied odds with our performances against the big boys on the continent. I remember we were written off in the home fixture against Al Ahly but we defied odds and beat them in our backyard., Awany said.
We are confident and ready to take on arguably the biggest club on the continent. We have faced such teams and we have managed to overcome many of them. We are in Egypt to play for pride, the badge and our fans who have stood by us from day one of this competition. We want to put up a good performance and finish on a high, he added.
Awany scored from the penalty spot in stoppage time against Al Ahly in the home fixture in Kampala. The skipper believes this will motivate him in the return fixture tonight at Borg Al Arab stadium on the 28th day of August at 9pm Egypt time and 10pm Uganda time.
