CAF CL – KCCA FC team finally touches base in Windhoek after 17 hours wait

KCCA FC team has finally touched base at Hosea Kutako airport Windhoek, Namibia ahead of the CAF Champions League game against Namibia giants African Stars FC.

The team had its flight SW 708 from Cape town to Windhoek cancelled last evening at 18hrs CAT due to technical reasons as communicated by an official from Namibia Air.


The flight number SW708 has been cancelled due to technical reasons, the airline has scheduled the flight to Thursday 1845hrs CAT.

This meant the team could not arrive to Namibia in time as it had been planned and expected.

Immediately, the club authorities swung into action to ensure the team could get on the next plane to Windhoek. And amazingly the team was booked on the next flight SW714 from Cape town to Windhoek at 1215hrs.

The team finally set foot on Namibia soil at 1540hrs at Hosea Kutako Airport, Windhoek.

www.kccafc.co.ug spoke to the club captain Charles Lukwago shortly after team arrived in Namibia and he had this to say;


We are here to play football and make sure we pick up a positive result away. We are focused and we will not let the hiccups encountered get us distracted.  We have our eyes set on the prize.

Captain Charles Lukwago has his focus set to the Champions League

The team is currently accommodated at City Lodge Hotel in Windhoek where it will reside for all the days it will spend in Namibia.

KCCA FC will take on Namibia’s African Stars FC in the CAF Champions League preliminary round game at Sam Nujoma Stadium, Windhoek at 1500hrs CAT and 1600hrs EAT on Saturday 10th August 2019.
