KCCA FC bowed out this year’s Caf Confederation Cup after a 4-1 defeat to Paradou AC on a cold Sunday night at the Stade 5 Juillet in Algiers.
The result coupled with a goalless draw at the Startimes Stadium, Lugogo in the first leg ensured that Paradou book their place in the group stage draw on November 10 with a 4-1 aggregate score.
Manager Mike Mutebi’s charges fell behind early but had equalised through playmaker Allan Okello.
That goal wasn’t sufficient as Paradou still led 2-1 at halftime.
Kcca created chances to draw level and perhaps return to the 16-team competition but it wasn’t to be.
Paradou grew their lead with a free kick from Abdelkhadar Khadri past Charles Lukwago and there was no secondary fightback.
After this, the team will refocus on the retaining the Startimes Uganda Premier League and other local competitions in order to return to continental football next season.
