A late Paul Mucureezi freekick and a first half header from Derrick Paul Nsibambi was all KCCA FC needed to collect three points against BrightStars FC away in Mwererwe at Champions Stadium.
The visitors showed immediate statement of intent with attacking football that troubled the hosts’ back four.

On two occasions Sadam Ibrahim Juma released Shaban Muhammad who fired the ball inches wide in the 9th and 18th minute.
Shot stopper Charles Lukwago was called into action in the 21st minute, brilliantly saving Nelson Senkatuka’s effort in a one against one situation.
Jackson Nunda who was playing behind Shaban and Nsibambi kept the hosts’ anchorman Kakooza on his toes, getting him booked for foul play on 26 minutes and beating him to shoot straight into the keeper’s hands 4 minutes later.

10 minutes to the end of the first half, Mucureezi pounced on a loose ball and crossed into the box, an unmarked Nsibambi made no mistake but head the ball in the back of the net to give KCCA FC the advantage.

After recess, KCCA FC kept possession more, trying to break the opposition down and it was Isaac Kirabira who came inches close from doubling the lead but his 30 yard effort went inches wide.
Sadam and Lukwago both had game deciding moments saving on the goal line, the latter making a point blank save with only him to beat in the 57th and 61st minute.

Midfielder Solomon Okwalinga was then introduced for Nunda, the cameo operating from deep allowing Sadam to go offensive.
The hosts had a moment of brilliance that saw Kokas Opejo level matters for them, and 10 minutes to the end of play Sadam was withdrawn for striker Patrick Kaddu.
With five minutes to the end of the game, Mucureezi was fouled on the edge of the 18-yard box and the midfielder stood to take the resultant kick. With a lot of calm, the quick foot man struck low and into the net, beating the entire defense and shot stopper to regain the advantage for KCCA FC.
