Team Latigo | 53 points – 500,000 ugx
The annual KCCA FC fans gala held on Sunday 18th December lived up to its billing.
The gala that was powered by MTN had pre-event activities that commenced in the week leading to D-day.
KCCA FC fans and staff members carried out a Corporate Social Responsibility Activity on Wednesday 14th December at Kizito Market in Kalerwe where the market was cleaned. The objective was to keep the market clean and drum up publicity for KCCA FC Fans Gala that was to be held at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Sunday 18th December 2022.
Fast forward, to Sunday, Fans flocked the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo to participate in the annual gala.
This year’s gala was special as the participating teams were named after living football legends of KCCA FC.
Team Paul Ssali, Team Charles Baker Masiko, Team Sam Ssimbwa and Team John Ross Latigo.
Fans competed in various games that included Football, Mixed Relays, Water Blind Passover, Musical Chair, 100 meters, 100 meters blindfold, 3-legged race, egg on a spoon, and netball.
Team Masiko would later get crowned as the overall winner of the KCCA FC Fans Gala 2022 and take home 1.8 million ugx.
Team Paul Ssali finished second with 68 points and took home 1,000,000ugx.
Team Sam Ssimbwa and Team John Ross Latigo finished 3rd and 4th with 55 and 53 respectively. They both took home 700,000ugx and 500,000ugx respectively.
Club legends Baker Masiko, Sam Ssimbwa, Paul Ssali were present to witness as their teams competed in the different fun games.
The Lord Mayor of Kampala His Worship, Ssalongo Erias Lukwago was the Chief Guest. The Mayor attended the Gala with his family.
KCCA FC Board members; Aggrey Ashaba (Vice Chairperson), Owek. Joseph Kirimanyi and Hon. Mwanje Keeya also attended the gala.
The club’s staff led by Anisha Muhoozi (Chief Executive Officer) were also part of the gala all through its activities.
We are on the right trajectory. The momentum generated from the fans. This is a point where we are headed. KCCA FC was set to be the number one fans’ club. The future is bright. We are doing everything as leaders to register the more success, improve infrastructure (stadium).

Such activities as the annual fans sports gala bring the management closer to the fans. Also, the fans feel appreciated after their loyalty to the club over time through such games at the gala. This is a platform as well to know each other better through socializing and networking. It is still a work in progress to involve more fans and grow the fan base for the club.
