Nicholas Kasozi opened his account for the National Team in a CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup game against Eritrea held at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.

The number six started in the anchorman role in a largely changed Jonathan McKinstry Uganda Cranes side.

In the 58th minute, the midfielder picked a loose ball from 30 yards and had a first time hit that troubled Eritrea’s shot-stopper Kibrom Solomun Haile thus spilling the ball over his goal line and into the back of the net.

With 13 minutes left on the clock, winger Joakiam Ojera was fouled from three yards off the penalty area. Kizza stepped up to take the resultant free-kick but his effort struck an Eritrean player in the box thus the referee pointing to the penalty spot.

Allan Okello, Charles Lukwago and John Revita were unused substitutes while Midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba played full 90 minutes.
