KCCA FC beat Proline FC 4-1 in the FUFA Super Cup game held at Startimes Stadium, Lugogo to clinch the fourth Super Cup in four years.
The game played between the winner of last season’s winner of the Startimes Uganda Premier League and the winner of the Uganda Cup had a lot of anticipation in the build up to kick off with comparison of both team’s playing style and belief in total football.
A brace from new signing Erisa Ssekisambu, a curler from Allan Okello and a late solo run from teenage defender Musa Ramathan is what KCCA FC needed to seal the Super Cup on familiar territory.
KCCA FC drew first blood through Ssekisambu inside seven minutes. The new signing capitalized on a poor save from Proline’s Matovu Hassan who fumbled to collect Anaku’s power shot. Ssekisambu responded with a nicely taken back heel to open his account for the Kasasiro Boys.
Seven minutes later Okello controlled a pass from Musa and curled the ball into the back of the net from 20 yards to double KCCA’s lead.
In the second stanza, birthday boy Ssekisambu doubled the lead from a loose back pass to Proline’s custodian Matovu. The forward controlled and smashed home to stretch KCCA’s lead.
KCCA FC made some changes, another birthday boy Sserwadda Steven replaced Jackson Nunda and Mike Mutyaba was introduced for Sadat Anaku. Later on, new sigining Simon Serunkuma replaced the day’s hero Ssekisambu.
Proline had Ivan Bogere replace Bright Anukani and Rogers Mato for Noordin Bunjo.
On 80 minutes, Proline pulled one back through an own goal from an on rushing Peter Magambo but three minutes later, teenage defender Musa Ramathan put the tie far away from reach with a solo run before slotting home from close range to net KCCA’s fourth and his second since switching to the senior side.
4-1 the final score. KCCA FC bagging the fourth Super Cup in as many years. The previous being won against Vipers in 2016 and 2018, Paidha Black Angels in 2017 and now Proline in 2019.
