KCCA FC beat Onduparaka FC 3-1 to qualify for the finals of the Pilsner Super 8 finals for the second year on the bounce.
Teenager Musa Ramathan’s first half solo effort gave KCCA an early lead and later a brace from the skipper of the day Allan Okello sealed it for the inaugural Super 8 winners.
Bheto Bashir pulled one back seven minutes into the second half but Okello stretched KCCA’s lead with a picture book freekick from 25 yards that pierced through the defense wall and into the net.
Musa almost doubled the lead but Onduparaka’s goalie Baker Yunus was the difference for the biggest spell of the opening 45 minutes.
Debutant John Revita picked teenager Anaku Sadat from over 50 yards but the youngster spewed his chance wide.
Another debutant Simon Serunkuma made the right wing his own with mazy runs and dashing inside at his will. The debutante’s best chance came in the 37th minute when he dribbled past four defenders and passed to Lawrence Bukenya whose shot went over the bar. The midfielder later got cautioned at the stroke of halftime.
In the second stanza, Peter Magambo replaced Bukenya and he was deployed in midfield.
Bheto Bashir pulled one back for Onduparaka but 120 seconds later, Okello stretched KCCA’s lead with a beautiful freekick from 25 yards to create a frenzy in the stadium and registering seven goals in seven games against the Caterpillars.
Mike Mutyaba picked a loose ball from the midfield and rattled the wood work with a fierce shot from 20 yards. The forward later gave way to new signing Erisa Sekisambu.
Eight minutes from fulltime, Okello almost scored a similar freekick to the one he struck earlier but the ball was parried over by Onduparaka custodian Baker Yunus. At Full-time, the teenager was awarded the Pilsner Man Of the match Gong.
3-1 the final score. KCCA FC qualifying for the final of the Pilsner Super 8 and will play Vipers SC on Sunday 25th August 2019 at a venue yet to be communicated.
