KCCA FC will host Koboko Rising Stars at the round of 64 in the 2017 Uganda Cup that gets underway January 21.

KCCA, 2-1 aggregate losers to eventual champions SC Vipers last year, start this year’s campaign with a somewhat easy fixture at the Philip Omondi stadium in Lugogo.

But manager Mike Mutebi refuses to write them off, although he asserts they are going into the tournament to win it.

To win it, it’s not going to be easy but that’s our target, we first to first negotiate the opposition that is out in front of us, and we believe we have enough to compete on both fronts of the Cup and also the league

Even with key players Joseph Ochaya, Timothy Awany and Geoffrey Sserunkuma missing because of their engagement at the Africa Cup of Nations, Mike Mutebi’s charges remain favorites to punch past the upcountry side.

With the league out of the way until February 7, all the concentration will be on progressing to the next level of the campaign.
