KCCA FC Drawn In Group A Of CAF Champions League.

KCCA FC has been drawn in group A of the CAF Champions League against Township Rollers of Botswana, Esperance of Tunisia and Al Ahly of Egypt.

The club was represented by CEO Josephine Namukisa and Manager Mike Mutebi at the draws that took place at Ritz Carlton hotel, Cairo, Egypt.

Placed in pot three, KCCA FC were picked second and placed into group A that also has two time African Champions Tunisia’s Esperance and group stage debutants Township Rollers.

The other team in the group is Al Ahly of Egypt who have won more CAF Champions league titles than any other team in the competition.

KCCA FC will kick start their group stage encounters against Township Rollers away on 4-6 May, the host Al Ahly on match day two in May before back to back fixtures against Esperance come July,the first of those fixtures will be In Tunisia. Then after play Township Rollers home and lastly Al Ahly away in August.

Speaking after the draw in Egypt, gaffer Mike Mutebi had this to say,

It was a total break from the past when a game between a Ugandan side pointed to one result – victory for the latter. ” We always had this fatalistic mentality. Before, we played them, we were always defeated. That defeatist approach is now gone. We now have the belief of competing against any team, Mutebi said
