Newly confirmed champions of the Azam Uganda Premier League Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA) left Uganda for Morocco on Wednesday ahead of the Saturday CAF Confederation Cup opening tie against FUS Rabat in Morocco.
KCCA who are the first Ugandan team to play on this stage for the first time will be aiming for do or die encounter with pucking maximum points as the ultimate target.
Before departure, manager Mike Hilary Mutebi shared with www.kccafc.co.ug how important this tie is in shaping the destiny of KCCA FC’s ambitions in the competition.
We are going to Morocco to give our best because we are rubbing shoulders with the best on the continent, we want to gauge our selves,
The manager also added that he hopes his players utilise every opportunity in front of him to achieve the desired dream.
We have trained these players to believe in themselves, and we are preparing them to approach the game with a lot of tactical discipline because it’s important, very important if we are to pick a result from Morocco.
KCCA won’t be with skipper Denis Okot who is suspended together with tried and tasted shot stopper Benjamin Ochan who is also serving a suspension.
Midfielder maestros Muzamir Mutyaba and Paul Mucureezi miss out through injury while exciting youngster Allan Okello is committed at school.
But stand in skipper Habib Kavuma is confident just like his manager that KCCA FC won’t be pushovers come Saturday.
