The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that all the teams in the group stages of the 2017 Total CAF Champions league and Confederation Cup will receive match equipment to be used in the games.
Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) is among the 16 teams that will play in the group stage of the 2017 Total CAF Confederation Cup.
Among the equipment expected from CAF include; match balls, captain armbands, Media bibs and sleeve patches among others.
According to CAF, it is only those equipment that will be used throughout the rest of the games both in the CAF Champions league and Confederation Cup.
“On the occasion of the Total CAF Champions league and Total CAF Confederation Cup 2017, you are kindly requested to use this equipment for the matches,” reads part of the statement from CAF.
The captain will receive two armbands in black and white colours while the club will get two official ball nets.
The other equipment include 25 water bottles that will be used by players, media bibs for accredited journalists and 78 balls. 48 of the 78 balls will be the official match balls that will be used for warming up, official training sessions and on match day.
The other 30 balls known as International Match standard balls will be used by teams for training sessions.
Additionally, KCCA FC will also receive 400 Confederation Cup logos to be placed on the player’s shirts (right sleeve) and 400 CELEBRATE AFRICA logos to be placed on player’s shirts (left sleeve).
KCCA FC is in group A alongside FUS Rabat (Morocco), Club Africain (Tunisia) and Rivers United(Nigeria). The first group game will be an away encounter against Morocco’s FUS Rabat on 13th May 2017.
KCCA FC edged past Egypt’s Al Masry at the playoff stage to write history, becoming the first Ugandan club to reach the group stages of any continental championship since change of format.
