Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club is set to organize a “KCCA FC Day” ahead of the new season. The event, which is themed ‘Ekiri e Lugogo’ will be held on Friday 4th August 2023 at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
The day will feature a number of activities, including unveiling the 2023/24 squad to KCCA FC stakeholders, a football match, and entertainment.
Speaking about this first-of-a-kind event, KCCA FC CEO Anisha Muhoozi said;
The event is a way for the club to connect with its fans and supporters. “We want to give our fans and supporters a chance to come together and celebrate the club ahead of the 2023/24 season. The player unveiling event and the international friendly is an opportunity where we seek to elevate the game of football in the country. As icing on the cake, the combination of music and football is a catalyst to spice up the flavor to a wider community than our usual reach.

The event is expected to attract thousands of fans from all over Uganda. Tickets for the event are already on sale and can be purchased at the stadium. 20,000UGX ordinary and 50,000UGX VIP.
KCCA FC Stadium Name partners MTN have also given back to the fans through MTN MOMO pay. All fans that will purchase the ordinary ticket using MTN MOMO Pay will get it at a discount (15,000UGX) courtesy of MTN.
Why KCCA FC is Organizing a “KCCA FC Day”?
KCCA FC is organizing a “KCCA FC Day” for a number of reasons. First, the event is a way for the club to connect with its fans and supporters. KCCA FC has a large and passionate fan base, and the event will give fans a chance to come together and celebrate the club.
Secondly, the event will have a international friendly game where KCCA FC will host Kakamega Homeboyz (Kenya) at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo as a precursor ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The event is a way for KCCA FC to promote the club and its brand. The event will be a great opportunity for the club to showcase itself to a wider audience.
International Friendly Game
KCCA FC has invited Kakamega Homeboyz from Kenya for this day. Kakamega are Kenyan’s sole representatives in this year’s CAF Competitions. The side will play in CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers in August and host Libya’s El Hilal in the first leg of the first preliminary round.
KCCA FC chose Kakamega because both clubs have continental ambitions and will be a perfect test ahead of the CAF games that start in August.
The international friendly game will be the culmination of the day’s activities and all this will be at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Lots of entertainment has been lined up on the day and this will be headlined by top Ugandan artist Spice Diana who has been confirmed to perform for the fans on the KCCA FC Day.
The KCCA FC Day event will henceforth be an annual event ahead of the forthcoming season.
