It’s just days to KCCA FC’s opening game of the 2017 Uganda Cup against Koboko Rising Stars at the Philip Omondi Stadium on Saturday.
KCCA FC has reached two finals of the last three editions but the side hasn’t tasted Uganda Cup glory since 2004.
Deadly winger Brian Majwega is optimistic and desperate to have the side go all the way this time around starting Saturday.
The team is well focused, the technical department has been monitoring every player since it has been a long time without winning the Uganda Cup, it’s a big target for the players to put in a lot of effort so that we can break the jinx and win the Uganda cup
Majwega told www.kccafc.co.ug after the team’s gym session at Planet Earth Gym in Nalya.
Majwega also asserted that the team’s aim is beyond the Saturday tie but every game that is put in front of them
It’s not about winning the Saturday game, it’s beyond, because our target and aim is winning every game put in front of us
KCCA are also drawn against C.D. Primeiro de Agosto in the CAF Champions League, first leg slated for February 11, the Uganda Cup tie will gauge the sides
We are going to use that game as an example to correct the mistakes we wouldn’t want to commit in the Champions League game, because it’s also clocking, the league is also around the corner
Football is entertainment and played for the spectators, Majwega also took time off to call KCCA FC fans come in big numbers
We are playing against players we have never heard of, even team we have not played against before, I just want to call upon the fans to come in big numbers and cheer us, we shall win the game
The Focus for KCCA FC this season will be to try and win a double which will be a first in the history of the club but also make the group stages of the CAF Champions League.
Years KCCA FC has won the Uganda Cup: 1979, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1987, 1990, 1993, and 2004
