Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) played to a 2-2 draw against Police at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Friday.
The draw took KCCA to 43 points, one behind log leaders SC Villa, who have played two games more the league holders.
The champions took the lead on 47 minutes through league leading scorer Geoffrey Serunkuma, who shot home off Derrick Nsibambi’s looping pass that beat the entire Police defense including their goalkeeper.
Noel Nasasira (L) and Lawerence Bukenya (R) made their debuts against Police on Friday at Namboole
It was the 14th goal for the striker who had earlier seen his effort ricochet off the post before Police cleared their lines.
Sserunkuma’s goal was the breakthrough the visitors needed going into the break.
The manager, Mike Mutebi, made substitutes as the second half resumed, bringing on teenager Allan Okello for debutant Lawrence Bukenya, who impressed in the midfield alongside Ivan Ntege and Muzamir Mutyaba.
Okello lit up the game with his crispy pin-point passes and dazzling expressions, and his cheeky chip announced his presence as Mutyaba slotted it home to double KCCA’s lead.

Police’s resilience saw them rally to force a draw with goals coming from Benson Ochan and Hood Karees in the 80th and 84th minutes respectively.
KCCA’s next league tie will be against Bright Stars on April 4th 2017 at the Philip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
That will be KCCA’s last league match before they take on Al Masry in the first leg of the 2017 Total CAF Confederations Cup playoff tie on April 8th, also at Lugogo.
