Loan Transfer | Teenager Ibrahim Juma moves to Spain

Left back Ibrahim Juma has moved to Club Deportivo Leganés on loan.

The teenager will immediately join the Spanish side’s youth categories to further his development once the procedures related to his documentation are completed.

The KCCA FC graduate will spend the rest of 2022/23 season on loan at the Spanish side.

The former U17 Uganda National Men’s team captain’s loan move has a purchase option when the loan period expires.

Juma who joined KCCA FC academy in 2017 has represented Uganda in U17 AFCON, 2019, and has also won the CECAFA U17 Title twice in 2019 and 2020. He was the Captain when the U17 Uganda National Men’s team that won the CECAFA in December 2020 – Kigali Rwanda and the Vice Captain of the U20 Uganda National Men’s team that won CECAFA U20 in Sudan, 2022.

Juma was also the Captain of the KCCA FC U20 side that won the Cambiasso and Rainbow International Tournament in Daresalaam in 2022.

Juma made his senior debut for KCCA FC against Masindi’s Doves FC, a memory that he will forever carry. The flamboyant left back registered an assist off a flawless cross that met Sadat Anaku who nodded home KCCA FC lone goal in the last 16 of the Uganda Cup 2020 edition.

He was fully promoted to the KCCA FC senior side in September 2021.

The 18 year old has already featured for the Uganda National Men’s senior team having made his debut in the match played on Wednesday, September 21, against Libya, playing 75 minutes. 

Juma joins a number of players who have previously played for the KCCA Soccer Academy and the KCCA FC senior team and later moved to professional ranks like; Sadat Anaku, Musa Ramathan, Steven Sserwadda, Mwanje Elvis Eddy, Kizza Mustafa and Allan Okello.
