KCCA FC visit Kampala region side Kampala Junior Team in the round of 64 of the 49th edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
The game will be held at Bugolobi Coffee Grounds.
At this stage last year, KCCA FC eliminated Busia United 2-1 away in Busia.
KCCA FC who are joint record winners of the Stanbic Uganda Cup on 10 cups with Express will be hoping they can carry the rhythm of the first round of the Uganda Premier League into the Uganda Cup.
KCCA FC are currently top of the Uganda premier league with 29 points from 14 games of the first round.
This will be the first of the two games KCCA FC will be playing in a space of 4 days. The 13 times Uganda Premier League Champions will later visit Wakiso Giants FC on Thursday in the first game of the second round of games.
In last year’s edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup, KCCA FC were eliminated by Soltilo Bright Stars FC at the round of 32.
Team News.
Peter Magambo is back in the team. The 6ft center half missed the first round due to injury but he has since recovered and is back to compete. He will maintain the number 13 jersey.
The trio of Rogers Mato, Moses Waiswa and Geoffrey Wasswa is back. They had been away since December 2022 and were part of the Uganda Cranes CHAN side that was in Algeria.
Faisal Wabyoona, Saidi Mayanja and Haruna Lukwago will miss the game because of National Duty. The teenagers are part of the Uganda U20 side preparing for AFCON U20 that will be held in Egypt this February.
Julius Poloto will miss the game as he continues his recovery process from a muscle injury.
Ashraf Mugume is ruled out due to illness.
John Revita is ruled out due to injury. The defender suffered a knee injury in the first round.
