BUL FC 1-0 KCCA FC
StarTimes Uganda Premier League
KCCA FC suffered defeat in its first game of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League season against BUL FC at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
KCCA FC Head Coach named a largely changed side from the one that played against Abu Salim last Sunday in Tunisia.
Haruna Lukwago, Fillbert Obenchan, Peter Magambo, Joel Sserunjogi, Abubaker Mayanja, Julius Poloto and Ashraf Mugume starting.
Only Derrick Ochan, Usama Arafat, Herbert Achai and Gui Cungulo maintained their places in the starting eleven from the previous game.
In the 7th minute, Poloto’s corner kick was headed away by BUL’s Ochora and Gui was in the right place for the rebound shot but his effort flew inches off the bar.
KCCA’s custodian Derrick Ochan then denied BUL’s Kitata from close range in the 18th minute.
Gui had the game’s best moment of offensive promise when his long range shot flew just inches off the frame of the goal, 8 minutes before the break.
At the death of the opening stanza, skipper Poloto and Mugume exchanged passes beautifully and the former struck the ball with finesse causing BUL’s custodian to fumble the ball but later collected.
Gui Cungulo was then cautioned by the referee for a late challenge on BUL’s skipper Kasonko.

Goalless at the break.
After recess, BUL’s Ochora Walter was cautioned for intentional handling of the ball to halt a KCCA attack in the 53rd minute.
Mugume teed up Usama who was through on goal but the latter was traced by BUL’s Ochora and the ball was cleared away in the 71st minute.
Two minutes later, skipper Julius Poloto was cautioned for a foul on Joel Madondo.
The hosts broke the deadlock in the 77th minute when defender Nicholas Mwere nodded past KCCA goal keeper Derrick Ochan.
BUL’ duo of Aprem, Joel Madondo plus KCCA’s Faisal Wabyoona got cautioned in the 86th and 90th minutes respectively.
